Antebellum consists of 98 custom-built single-family homes on wooded lots, most platted to accommodate walkout basements. The subdivision's recorded building requirements set minimum finished sizes by home style: two-story homes at 2,200 square feet and ranch or one-and-a-half-story homes at 1,600 square feet, with a minimum two-car garage and exterior basement walls finished to grade on every home. Built square footages recorded in MLS sales run from roughly 2,100 to more than 5,800 finished square feet. Lots in the surrounding Plantation Pointe development range from about one-third of an acre to one acre. Homes were built by multiple custom builders rather than a single production builder, which is why elevations and floor plans vary noticeably street to street.
Antebellum residents access the shared amenities of Plantation Pointe rather than a dedicated Antebellum clubhouse. The subdivision is a pool community, and its lots are served by city water and sewer and natural gas. Nature trails connect into a network of natural and paved walkways designed to encircle the wider Plantation Pointe neighborhood. Common grounds and pools across Plantation Pointe are administered by RENTZ Management, Inc. of Covington. The interior street layout is built around cul-de-sacs rather than through-streets, so most homes sit off the main circulation route.
Antebellum operates under a two-tier structure: its own recorded Declaration of Covenants plus the Plantation Pointe Master Association (PPMA), which governs the eight communities inside the development. Antebellum holds a dedicated seat on the PPMA Board of Directors — the current representative is Julie Aylor, whose term expires at the 2028 annual meeting. RENTZ Management, Inc. (PO Box 1027, Covington, KY 41012; 859-581-4815) manages common grounds and pools for the master association. Community materials published by area agents list Antebellum's homeowners association fee at $517 per year; MLS records for recent sales have reported figures in the $400–$520 annual range, so buyers should confirm the current assessment and what it covers directly with Rentz Management.
A Design and Architectural Review Board must approve plans, specifications and landscaping before construction or exterior changes. Other recorded restrictions include:
Covenants are amendable — pull the current recorded documents from the Plantation Pointe master association or the Boone County Clerk before relying on any restriction.
Antebellum is served by the Boone County School District. As of the date this page was last updated, assigned schools include Erpenbeck Elementary School, Ockerman Middle School and Larry A. Ryle High School. Erpenbeck Elementary is unusual in that it sits inside the Plantation Pointe development itself, at 9001 Wetherington Boulevard, roughly a mile from Antebellum's streets. Ockerman Middle School is at 8300 US-42 in Florence, about 3 miles north, and Ryle High School is at 10379 US-42 in Union, about 3 miles southwest.
School assignments are subject to change. Buyers should verify current assignments directly with the Boone County School District before making any purchasing decisions based on school information.
Antebellum sits at the southern end of Wetherington Boulevard, roughly half a mile north of Mt. Zion Road. Two interstate entrances serve the subdivision: I-75 exit 178 (Mt. Zion Road), about 1.5 miles east, and I-75 exit 180 (US 42 / Union–Florence), reached by continuing north on Wetherington Boulevard to US 42. Approximate drive distances:
No public park adjoins Antebellum directly; the nearest is Boone County's Central Park & Arboretum at 9190 Camp Ernst Road in Union, about 5 miles west. Central Park is a 121-acre park that opened in spring 1994 and offers 2.35 miles of paved trails through wooded and open areas, plus a children's garden, wetlands, and the Arboretum at Central Park. The arboretum was the nation's first arboretum within an active recreation park setting, with plant collections lining paved multi-use trails that wind around 12 athletic fields. Closer in, Florence operates South Fork Park (about 2 miles north, with a creek, playground and disc golf) and Lincoln Woods Park at 1 City Park Drive.
Antebellum is a low-turnover subdivision — with only 98 homes, resale inventory is typically limited to a handful of listings per year. Recorded MLS sales over the past several years have ranged from the high $300,000s for smaller two-story and ranch plans to $570,000 for a six-bedroom, 5,800-square-foot home on Harpers Ferry Drive. Current pricing generally falls between the low $400,000s and upper $500,000s depending on finished square footage, basement finish and lot position.
