Get pre-approved for a loan before you start shopping for a home
If you take the time to get pre-approved:
- You know how much you can borrow, so you don't waste time looking at properties you can't afford.
- You have an edge when you make an offer, because the seller knows you're likely to get a loan and close the deal.
- You save time on closing your loan, because you've already assembled your paperwork
- Gives you an estimate of how much you can borrow and puts you in a better position to buy.
To get pre-approved for a loan, you should know your:
- Cash available for a down payment
- Cash available for closing costs
- Current income
- Job status
- Estimated assets
- Estimated debts

You can use any lender you wish, but I strongly recommend that you use the lenders/brokers I work with.. They can meet or beat the interest rate and pricing of any other lender, plus you will never be at the mercy of some outside company - waiting around helplessly trying to find out the status of your loan from some mysterious unknown person
